Among the various commonly used applications that are seeing continuous improvements, WhatsApp can certainly be counted.
The latest update, version 2.12.5, is indeed very useful.

The first noteworthy feature is called “Mark as unread”: when you receive a message, you can decide to “archive” it as if it were unread, so you can go back to reading it later.

The feature can be useful, for example, when you don’t have time or “absentmindedly” open a chat, without being able to read and respond with the due attention instantly.
With this new option, the chat will be dragged to the right side, so you can distinguish it from others.

WhatsApp update 2.12.5 also brings another important novelty: the ability to customize notifications is given. Exactly as happens for traditional phone calls and SMS, WhatsApp also gets the mode that allows you to associate a specific ringtone with a user (or a group).

Furthermore, you can insert a sort of “timer” to be used to silence incoming message notifications from some or all contacts for a specified period of time.

From today – at least for the app on iOS – it is also possible to save videos with a backup, a mode that did not exist until now.

To conclude, work has also been done on an aspect that is certainly never to be underestimated: the theme of energy saving.
The new version of WhatsApp will indeed have a reduced impact on battery consumption.
