Twitter Music closing down? Rumors

News is coming from circles close to Twitter talk about the upcoming shutdown of a specific service: apparently, in fact, Twitter Music is about to close.
This is announced by AllThingsD, the tech blog of the Wall Street Journal, which reports the rumor that the service will soon cease to exist, at least as it is currently structured.
In reality, it is not clear whether Twitter Music will no longer be supported as a project, as on AllThingsD it starts from a different observation: in the six months since the service was launched, it was the relative app that recorded rather disappointing results.
It should be noted that the application has only been available for iOS devices to date, and precisely on the App Store it did not achieve any encouraging download results, soon falling behind other apps by even more than a thousand and a half positions compared to the week of its debut.
Therefore, a rather sensational flop, according to the conclusions and rumors reported by the blog hosted on the Wall Street Journal’s web pages.
Furthermore, it should be noted that the version of the Twitter Music app for Android was never prepared or offered, so a large segment of users was effectively excluded from the possibility of using this application.

It is not certain, however, that the entire Twitter Music project will be shelved or closed; on the contrary, there is insistent talk of a reorganization of this specific sector.
Probably the service needs to be completely rethought and it is reasonable to assume that Twitter will not exit the music context entirely, if only because it is clear that the sector itself, on a global level, generates visits, presence, and consensus.
This is demonstrated by the ever-increasing success of services such as Pandora, Last.fm, Spotify, and many others.
