Thanks to its macro functionality, it allows you to capture subjects at a 1:1 magnification ratio. Additionally, the full range of controls includes dedicated focus buttons – mode adjustment, range limiter, and lock – ensuring superb close-ups, regardless of the photographer’s skill level.
At ease with landscapes, portraits, and macro shots alike, the SEL50M28 lens achieves a minimum focusing distance of 0.16m and expands the frame to better incorporate the background compared to similar models with longer focal lengths. Weighing just 236g, this lens is extremely lightweight and easy to carry, and can be used in a wide variety of weather conditions due to its excellent dust and water resistance[i].
The new 50mm FE F2.8 Macro Lens features an ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lens element for effective compensation of axial chromatic aberrations in close-up shots, delivering sharp and impressive results. The circular aperture produces pleasing blur effects, while the optical and mechanical structure is designed to reduce flare and ghosting, even without a lens hood.
The SEL50M28 lens will be available starting next October.
