Google Play Store now supports PayPal payments

Also in Italy it is now possible to make purchases on the Google Play Store by paying with PayPal. Here’s how it works and how to select this new service.

The electronic currency PayPal makes its debut among the payment methods accepted on the Play Store of Google.
The news was formalized by sources close to the Mountain View giant, with the launch of the new payment method in 12 countries, including Italy.
In the coming hours, once the update related to this new entry is received, you can therefore choose from more options, excluding – if you prefer – credit card as the primary means of payment.
The countries affected by the debut of this novelty are the following (in alphabetical order):

  • Austria,
  • Belgium,
  • Canada,
  • Finland,
  • France,
  • Germany,
  • Ireland,
  • Italy,
  • Netherlands,
  • United Kingdom,
  • Spain,
  • United States.

PayPal is a widely used currency and from today everyone can use it to download apps, movies, music albums, ebooks, and content available for devices with the Android operating system.
Google points out that only in some specific cases will it still be necessary to proceed with the methods accepted so far and without being able to use PayPal; it is indeed stated that “PayPal cannot be used to purchase devices or accessories on Google Play or for other purchases through Google Wallet outside of the Play Store“.

How to pay with PayPal on Play Store?
Google explains the procedure to activate this feature: simply log in with your account used on the Play Store and go to Google Wallet.
At this point you can select “PayPal” among the preferred payment methods.
Once this is done, you can proceed – in the final phase of any purchase via the Play Store – to enter your PayPal login credentials, as normally happens on any e-commerce site that accepts this electronic currency.

The initiative is destined to be successful since more and more people consider PayPal an excellent payment system: by using this type of account, in fact, you can avoid entering your credit card details on various platforms.
Therefore, Google has decided to keep up with the trend and equip itself with a new payment tool, undoubtedly very streamlined and particularly reliable.
