The closure of the telephone operator Nòverca means all customers will automatically switch to TIM: what to do? Here are the instructions.
News this week of the official closure of Nòverca, a mobile telephony operator that has been active in Italy for some years.
The virtual operator has indeed decided to abandon the consumer segment it offered, given that the company is – or rather, was? – an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), primarily dedicating itself to other types of business-focused activities.
To this end, it has initiated the process of decommissioning its virtual lines, communicating via an official statement that it has reached an agreement with Telecom Italia.
This means that, starting from February 1st, 2015, Nòverca customers will automatically become TIM customers.
The promise made by the Nòverca staff is that all current tariff plans will remain unchanged, as will the assigned phone number.
So what should Nòverca customers, who are about to become TIM customers, do?
It’s important to know that from February 1st, even without taking any action, you can continue to use the telephony service normally; however, in the coming weeks, you will need to visit a TIM store to formalize the activation of a TIM SIM.
There will be time until April 2015 to do this, in order to correctly complete the number portability process, keeping your number and starting to use all services, but this time on the TIM network.
According to current information, tariff plans will remain unchanged, unless TIM introduces specific offers tailored for former Nòverca customers.
Naturally, any remaining credit at the time of porting will also be preserved and made available immediately on the TIM SIM.
It is, of course, still possible to choose another operator for number portability before Nòverca ceases operations and before the mandatory switch to TIM.
One could finally follow the path suggested by Nòverca, taking advantage of the current tariff conditions for a few more months, and then decide later whether to continue with TIM or switch to Vodafone, Wind, Tre, Poste, or other virtual operators possibly present on the market.
For any doubts or clarifications, it is recommended to consult the Nòverca website and follow their official Facebook page, as official information is also disseminated through this social channel.
