Nokia Lumia devices to soon be compatible with Android apps?

Nokia is reportedly considering making Android apps compatible with its Nokia Lumia devices.

It seems that Nokia is considering a new phase to further boost the devices in the Nokia Lumia family.
Given that it is evident that developers are not particularly incentivized to create applications for Windows Phone – not at least in the quantity and variety available on the more popular Apple Store and Play Store – it is understood that Nokia is evaluating an unprecedented option: making Android apps compatible with its Lumia series devices.
Microsoft – which has recently acquired a large portion of Nokia – would therefore not replace the operating system but rather integrate it with some mechanism – clearly official and accepted by Google – that would allow Nokia Lumia owners to choose from a much larger number of applications.
It is important to specify that these rumors, originating from U.S. media, are only unconfirmed reports: official confirmation is lacking from both Nokia-Microsoft and Google.

However, the possibility of an approach between these two giants, regarding strategies for the mobile sector, is not surprising at all: it was announced in recent weeks that the next presentation of the so-called Nokia Normandy“, Nokia’s first smartphone with the Android operating system, might be possible.
If this were the case, some confirmation could likely arrive in the coming days, coinciding with the start of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
