Nikon D600: rumors and previews of the full-frame DSLR

Few and subtle rumors are beginning to circulate around the Nikon D600, the potential new full-frame DSLR about which very little is known.

Talk has begun about Nikon’s next full-frame DSLR: some rumors leaked in recent days have prompted the site Nikonrumors.com to piece together a puzzle that suggests an upcoming release for the Nikon D600.
This is the name, according to the aforementioned site, of the next DSLR camera that could be unveiled as early as this summer.
This would likely be the successor to the much-loved Nikon D700, despite the fact that the Nikon D800 has since been released.
So, would the Nikon D600 replace the “old” – so to speak – flagship, or would it expand Nikon’s DSLR range?
This question cannot yet be answered, especially since very little is known about this new product.
It is certainly hypothesized that the price will be relatively low: leaks suggest that around $1500 will be enough for a Nikon D600, which is not excessive for the category of camera being discussed.

Technical specifications remain shrouded in mystery, although sources close to the manufacturer mention a 24-megapixel sensor and the simultaneous introduction of new f/4 lenses.
It also appears that the future Nikon D600 will accommodate two SD cards (having a dual slot) and a dedicated battery grip.
Another noteworthy point is the ability to use the RAW editor directly, allowing for quick conversions without additional steps on other devices.
This is what has been briefly leaked so far: if the Nikon D600 – assuming this is the final name – is indeed ready for a summer release, more information will likely emerge in the coming weeks directly from company sources.
