Despite its low-cost price, the Nikon Coolpix S30 is an underwater camera, useful for upcoming holidays and easy to use.
Nikon Coolpix S30 at first glance might seem like a childproof camera: and indeed it is, this is a very practical and easy-to-use digital camera, yet of good quality.
It was indeed specifically designed for family use: passed from hand to hand, it can be easily used by children and the elderly, relying on simple quality features and a robust body.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Nikon Coolpix S30 is also an underwater camera, therefore particularly useful for those who will be going on beach holidays in the summer.
Before moving on to the technical specifications, it should be noted that the design of this camera is very clean and essential: a point on which the company has worked extensively, in order to package a camera that can be firmly gripped by the small hands of children.
As for the optical compartment, the Nikon Coolpix S30 features a 10-megapixel sensor paired with a 3x NIKKOR optical zoom.
It is also possible to shoot 720p videos, controllable thanks to the 6.7 cm (2.7-inch) high-resolution LCD screen.
Note the position of the lens and the built-in flash: they are both positioned in the center of the camera, so as to avoid accidental fingerprints on these two elements when holding and taking a photo.
As mentioned, the Nikon Coolpix S30 can be used up to three meters deep and is also very resistant to drops (from a maximum height of 0.8 meters).
The only drawback is probably the need for AA batteries rather than a rechargeable battery, however, the automatic shut-off system after three minutes of inactivity preserves battery life.
The Nikon Coolpix S30 is offered in colors blue, pink, white, and black and with a price that has settled just under 100 euros.
