The Nikon 1 AW1 immediately presents a feature that doesn’t go unnoticed: it’s waterproof.
It’s time for new releases for Nikon, with the presentation of a waterproof mirrorless camera.
The model is called Nikon 1 AW1 and it is about to be released on the US market, where it is rumored that its price could be around 1000 dollars or slightly less.
Not much is known, on the other hand, about the possible price in Italy and more generally in Europe, so as soon as we know more we will talk about it again.
As for the technical characteristics of Nikon 1 AW1, one feature certainly stands out: its resistance to water, shocks, frost, and dust.
The Nikon 1 AW1 can indeed be submerged up to 15 meters (including the flash), resists drops up to 2 meters high, and also withstands low temperatures, down to -10 degrees. A perfect camera for adventure, wildlife photography, and diving.
From a purely technical standpoint, the Nikon 1 AW1 features a 14.2-megapixel CX-format CMOS sensor and ISO from 160 to 6400.
It is possible to shoot Full HD 1080p videos with audio, even underwater, and everything will be processed by the EXPEED 3A image processor.
Furthermore, two lenses have been specifically designed for this camera, both equally resistant to various climatic conditions: the NIKKOR AW 11–27.5mm f/3.5–5.6 and the NIKKOR AW 10mm f/2.8.
The arrival of the Nikon 1 AW1 in America is expected in October, in black, white, or silver colors.
