Nexus S, Google’s smartphone, has been officially presented, along with another novelty of the day: Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Here are the main features of Nexus S and its retail price.

Nexus S features a 4” WVGA touchscreen display and two cameras: a 5-megapixel one on the back of the device and another on the front, useful for video calls, being a VGS.
The design of the Nexus S has soft, curved lines and a multitouch keyboard.
The heart of the Nexus S is a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor (better known as Hummingbird), but the biggest novelty is the operating system: the brand new Android 2.3 Gingerbread makes its debut.
The Nexus S has 512MB of RAM and 16GB of memory. It is a smartphone produced by Samsung but branded by Google, equipped with a microUSB connector and high battery life: in standby, the Nexus S promises just over 17 days of operation in 3G (29 in 2G), while in 3G mode tests show a battery life of just under 7 hours, which doubles in 2G.
Energy consumption is reduced, but this is one of the merits attributed to the new Gingerbread operating system.
The Nexus S also features a PN544 NFC (Near Field Communications) chip, making it a versatile payment tool, in the presence of POS terminals compatible with this type of technology, allowing you to pay directly from your mobile device.
The Nexus S will be launched on December 16th in the United States at a price of approximately $530, while it will reach Europe (initially only Great Britain) on December 20th.
