New low-cost Google Chromebook XE303C12

Google has recently presented its new Chromebook, made in collaboration with Samsung. This time observers were quite surprised by the price, considered low cost compared to the past.
Chromebook XE303C12 (this is its official code) should be configured as an ultrabook, although the screen size mostly suggests a netbook.
The display is actually 11.6 inches, with a resolution of 1366×768.
Naturally the operating system can only be Chrome OS, completely cloud-based: on the Chromebook there are no installed software, nor will any be able to be added in the future.
Everything will in fact be stored in the cloud, “on the cloud”, mostly using apps and always needing a connection to have everything available, including your own documents.
Regarding the processor, the new Chromebook mounts an ARM Cortex A15 at 1.7 GHz, supported by 2 GB of RAM.
For the reasons above – those related to the cloud – there will naturally not be much internal memory for storing programs and content; however, you will automatically have 100 GB of free cloud space available for the two years following the purchase.
It is still possible to use your own media, due to the presence of a USB 2.0 port, a USB 3.0 port, an HDMI port, and an SD card slot.

As for the overall dimensions, it weighs just over a kilogram, with a maximum thickness profile of 2 centimeters.
There is a webcam integrated in the screen profile and the battery – lithium – promises about 6 hours of autonomy in full use.
As for the prices of the new Chromebook, the base model has been put on sale on the US market for $250 (Wi-Fi only), while for the Wi-Fi + 3G model the price rises to $330.
It is worth noting that at the moment sales are only open in the United States and the British market: the release period in Italy has not been announced.
