New Apple TV with Siri: price and features revealed

After rumors and previews, it’s time for official news from Apple.
The event in San Francisco, held just a few hours ago, allowed the company’s leaders to present – among other things – the new Apple TV.
This is a significant redesign for this device, which in previous years did not achieve great success. However, Cupertino continues to bet on the TV project, integrating it further with two major innovations.
First of all, the new Apple TV uses a combined remote control, which houses a microphone. The reason is simple: you can use the new Apple TV by relying on the voice and virtual assistant Siri.
The microphone, therefore, will be used precisely for issuing commands to the device.
Siri will thus be able to perform a series of actions: search within the catalog specifically designed for Apple TV, and interact “live”, meaning during playback itself.
If, for example, you’ve lost track of what you’re watching or haven’t fully understood a sentence or scene, simply tell Siri via the remote control, and the program will rewind a few seconds. This way, you can rewatch the part you’re interested in, also benefiting from subtitles suggested by Siri, to read the text in question.
Tim Cook, when presenting the features of the new Apple TV, also emphasized that a specific section of the store has been created where it will be possible to download apps specifically designed for this new device.
Not coincidentally, work has been done on a new operating system: tvOS, designed precisely to allow developers to create apps for Apple TV or video games.
A new, cleaner, and simpler interface has also been developed, to leave ample space for content.

From a purely technical standpoint, it is finally learned that Apple TV runs on a 64-bit A8 chip and will be available in two versions: 32 GB or 64 GB.
The remote control works via Bluetooth technology and promises approximately 3 months of battery life with full usage.
Regarding the price of the new Apple TV, it will vary based on the chosen version, depending on the available internal memory; here are the details:

• Price of new Apple TV with 32 GB: $149;
• Price of new Apple TV with 64 GB: $199.

The arrival in stores will be at the end of October: a precise date was not officially announced during the presentation event for the new Apple products, only an indicative period.
