A new free application has arrived on the App Store: Microsoft OneNote for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
OneNote, Microsoft’s renowned note-taking service, is now available on iPhone as a free application downloadable from the App Store. Currently, the application, also useful for iPad and iPod Touch users, can only be downloaded from the US App Store. However, its arrival on European Apple devices should not be too far off, as assured by Redmond headquarters.
Following its launch on Windows Phone 7, the “digital notebook” OneNote now presents itself to iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch users with a slightly different version compared to the one on WP7: some features are missing, but the ability to sync with Windows Live SkyDrive is included. This way, notes, memos, lists, and saved images will always be accessible via the web, leveraging cloud computing. This means that to use the app with the convenience of SkyDrive sharing, a Windows Live account is mandatory.
While waiting for Microsoft’s OneNote application to arrive on the Italian App Store (and hoping it will be provided for free, just as it is in the US right now), it’s important to note that OneNote is compatible and functional with iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches running iOS version 4.2.
