Kodak enters the smartphone sector: CES 2015 previews

It is understood that Kodak will announce the release of some Android smartphones in the coming days.

The CES in Las Vegas is just a few days away, and various rumors are beginning to emerge about the strategies companies participating in the event will deploy. Among these, a well-known entity will certainly make waves, as it appears poised to introduce new products: Kodak. Contrary to what one might easily assume, there will be no news strictly in the photography domain; the company is, in fact, preparing to make its mark in the smartphone sector. There is considerable curiosity surrounding this move, as one might expect devices capable of competing with high-end models, particularly in terms of the camera capabilities they might offer. The anticipation is also high because Kodak is reportedly producing its smartphones in collaboration with the English manufacturer Bullitt, known in the industry for specializing in particularly rugged models, suitable for those who engage in extreme sports or work on construction sites, to give an idea of the type of products they typically handle. For instance, among their past creations are models designed for Caterpillar. Some hints about the type of smartphones Kodak might release can be gleaned from the Bullitt Group’s own staff: no specific technical features are mentioned, but it’s explained that these will be devices offering a high-end experience while remaining simple to use.

The only detail certainly known is that Kodak smartphones will be equipped with the Android operating system and 4G connectivity modules. Certainly, a new system for taking and sharing photos, with the ability to print them quickly and in high quality, will not be missing. We therefore await January 6, 2015, the start date of CES 2015, to learn more.
