It had been talked about for months and in recent weeks the rumors had multiplied; the potential streaming music service from Apple actually exists and was presented during the first presentation of the WWDC in San Francisco.
Despite the anticipation that the novelty might be called “iRadio“, it was learned that – much more in line with Apple’s strong past – the novelty is actually called “iTunes Radio“.
Its presentation did not last long, so the details known are still few, in view of the official opening of the service which will take place in the fall.
In fact, it was the unveiling of the new iOS 7 operating system that enjoyed more space.
In any case, it is very clear that iTunes Radio will be part of the still small series of services dedicated to streaming music listening, like Spotify which – at first glance – appears to be the real main competitor of this novelty, at least in Italy.
Therefore, listening is completely free but with short advertising spots at a fixed frequency.
Users who own an account on iTunes Match – whose price is just under 30 euros per year – will naturally be able to use iTunes Radio but in this case without any advertising breaks.
So you will be able to listen to music at will, create personalized radio channels and indicate your favorite songs or those you have just discovered thanks toiTunes Radio, so you can add them to your “Wish List”.
From here, you can also proceed to purchase the track itself, via iTunes.
Compared to other music streaming services, iTunes Radio has the undeniable advantage of being a new service but absolutely integrated into existing services with a very large user base, moreover already loyal.

It will therefore not be a matter of instilling the desire to try something new, since this will happen naturally, considering the fact that iTunes Radio will already be integrated and included in iTunes and in the universe of what Apple offers.
An evident advantage that would also allow you to use the service on mobile devices such as iPhone, iPad, and iPod, completely free of charge.
This is not the case, for example, with Spotify, which requires payment of a subscription if you wish to use the service not on desktop but on mobile.
We will have to wait a while longer before we can try iTunes Radio: its debut will take place in the fall in the United States and then, a few weeks later, the service will be launched in Europe and therefore in Italy.
