The sales of iPhone 4s in the very first launch weekend are already being hailed as a record: excellent reception from potential buyers, and similarly, iOS 5 and iCloud are also growing well.
iPhone 4s arrived in US stores on Friday, October 14th, and it’s already a phenomenon in sales results: in just three days, official estimates from Cupertino speak of a remarkable four million units sold.
This outcome is, in a way, understandable, given the significant impact the news of Steve Jobs’ passing had on Apple enthusiasts and beyond.
However, the result in itself, stripped of any emotional or contingent connotations, remains exceptionally high and noteworthy: 4 million iPhone 4s in just three days of sales opening is a considerable number, even decontextualized.
We’ll have to wait to confirm the total figures starting October 28th, when the iPhone 4s will also launch in Italy, along with 21 other countries: only from that point onwards – and increasingly towards the Christmas period – will the actual sales volumes of the device become clear.
This isn’t Apple’s only success of the period: coinciding with the iPhone 4s release, iOS 5 and iCloud were also officially unveiled.
On the new operating system front, there’s also positive feedback to report: Apple has announced that iOS 5 has been downloaded by 25 million users, while for iCloud – the cloud storage system – there are already approximately 20 million registrations.
