It’s time to start talking concretely about Nokia Windows Phones: in November, the Nokia 800 equipped with Windows Phone 7.5 will arrive. Here are the price and the first leaked details.
While Nokia smartphones with the Symbian Belle operating system are still being announced, the first news regarding the release of the first Nokia Windows Phones is finally here.
On October 26th, the “Nokia World 2011” event will take place, and it appears that the new smartphone equipped with Mango, the Windows Phone operating system, will be unveiled on this occasion.
Not much is known about its features and specifications, but it is clear that it will be a mid-to-high-end smartphone. Yesterday, a TIM price list for upcoming devices leaked, revealing the “Nokia Windows Phone 7.5“, expected in stores in November with a price tag of around 499 euros.
Regarding the name, while previously referred to as “Nokia Sea Ray“, it now seems that in some markets the new smartphone will be known as Nokia 800, while in others it will be called “Nokia Lumia“.
As is natural in such cases, especially in the last quarter of the year, this new model arrives just before Christmas, aiming to capitalize on consumers’ increased spending capacity during the holidays.
There isn’t much more to add, as there have been no official communications from either Nokia or Microsoft regarding the technical specifications of the Nokia 800.
We will have to wait until October 26th when Nokia’s executives will present new products and services to be launched soon from London.
Unless further information leaks in the next ten days.
UPDATE October 24, 2011: We contacted Nokia’s press office to request any further news regarding the features and photos of the Nokia 800, but we were told that “these are just rumors“. Curiosity about the event on October 26th, therefore, increases considerably. We will keep you updated.
