Apple has officially introduced its new iPad Air tablet: here are the prices and technical features.
Just hours after the Apple event that brought the new upcoming devices to the spotlight, here’s a summary of the technical specifications of the new iPad Air tablet.
The name itself evokes the concept of lightness, and indeed the tablet stands out for its slim design – only 7.5 millimeters thick – and a weight of less than 500 grams, despite being a tablet with a 10-inch screen.
Regarding this, the presence of the Retina Display is noteworthy, set within an extremely thin bezel that is, in turn, part of the solid unibody construction.
The resolution is 2048×1536, with over 3.1 million pixels.
In terms of internal hardware, the heart of this tablet is the combination of the A7 Chip and M7 coprocessor, which provide great processing and usage speed.
The operating system is, naturally, the latest release: iOS 7.
Connectivity shows very good performance, thanks to the ultra-fast Wi‑Fi 802.11n dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) module, with two antennas and MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) technology.
As for mobile connectivity, it’s possible to choose the iPad Air with Wi‑Fi + Cellular version, which also includes 4G LTE networks.
The photo and video department consists of a 5-megapixel iSight camera that switches from photos to 1080p HD videos with a tap.
iPad Air comes in two colors: white and black; however, covers – both in leather and polyurethane – allow for personalization of your tablet.
The release is scheduled for November 1st, and regarding the price of the iPad Air, it starts from a base of 479 euros.
