**Instagram Video** is the new Video tab, which combines feed videos and IGTV videos into a single format to make uploading and discovering videos even easier.
On Instagram, IGTV videos and feed videos are combined into a single format: Instagram Video. A new Video tab will appear on the profile, allowing users to discover lots of new content with ease. The creator community heavily uses video to tell their stories, entertain, and connect with their audience: that’s why Instagram has decided to make creating and discovering videos simpler than ever.
Easier to upload and discover videos
IGTV and feed videos will have a single format, but the process for uploading videos from your camera roll will remain the same: by clicking the + symbol in the top right corner of the Instagram homepage and selecting “Post”. New features for cropping videos, new filters, and new tags for people and places will be introduced.
Creators will continue to cross-post their videos to Stories and share them via direct messages. Access to all tools offers creators many possibilities to tell their stories and engage the community. Video previews in the feed will now be 60 seconds long, unless the video is eligible for ads: in that case, the preview will remain 15 seconds.
New ways to watch and analyze videos
The new Video tab will be the home for this combined format and will make it easier for users to find content from the creators they love. While watching a video on Instagram, people can tap anywhere on the video to view it in full screen. They also always have the option to scroll to discover new, interesting content.
To make it easier for businesses and creators to understand the results of their video content, Instagram is developing a metric that includes insights on both feed posts and videos.
Reach new users with video ads
With Instagram Video, IGTV ads will be called Instagram in-stream video ads. Eligible creators will still be able to monetize long-form content, and brands will be able to reach audiences by engaging them with long-form content. Businesses interested in promoting their videos to reach more users will be able to post videos no longer than 60 seconds. The Video tab is the new home for visual storytelling.
