Huawei Ascend Mate is the smartphone-phablet just presented at the opening of CES 2013. Distinctive feature: the extra-large screen.
CES 2013 has kicked off the usual array of technological innovations, and here comes the presentation of a super smartphone, at least in terms of size: it’s the Huawei Ascend Mate.
Its screen is actually 6.1 inches, a size comparable almost to a tablet and certainly to an ebook reader, to give an idea of its dimensions.
The other technical features are also worth mentioning: among all the components, the battery stands out, as it has been equipped with 4030 mAh. A value never recorded before on any smartphone, at least among those presented to date.
In the coming days, it’s possible we’ll see the unveiling of entirely new products, given that CES has always been an unmissable event for companies wishing to preview their products.
Regarding the processor, a 1.5 GHz Hisilicon quad-core has been chosen, which perfectly complements the 2 GB of RAM and interacts with the Android Jelly Bean operating system, version 4.1.2.
Compared to the “grandeur” of the other components, the internal memory, offered in an 8 GB configuration, might seem a bit underwhelming.
There are two cameras: the rear one is 8 megapixels, while the front one is 1 megapixel.
The retail price of the device and its arrival date in Europe are not yet known: sales will begin in China and Japan in January, and the smartphone will subsequently be launched elsewhere.
