Samsung Galaxy S2: Jelly Bean update arriving

The Jelly Bean update is also arriving on Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphones: here’s a detailed look at what it will entail.

Positive news regarding Samsung Galaxy S2 devices: the Jelly Bean update is on its way.
The smartphones will start receiving the system upgrade presumably within the next few days (an exact start date is still missing), although it should be specified that the update will not be delivered via OTA, but through Kies.
In detail, Samsung Galaxy S2 devices will soon receive Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, this is the exact version in question, with some new features to consider.
To start, it’s important to point out what many will certainly consider a downside: by downloading the update, 1 GB of internal memory will be lost from the available storage.
As for the “plus” aspects that the roll-out to Android 4.1.2 will bring, there’s the increased navigation fluidity and a greater simplification of the home screen, thanks to the contribution of Project Butter technology.
Some applications will also be pre-installed, such as Google +, Play Book, and Talk, but it’s important to specify that for Italy, Google Play Movie will not be auto-loaded, as the platform is not yet available in our country.

Advantages also in the camera department: when recording videos, it will be possible to pause the recording and resume later.
Still regarding videos, the “pop-up” functionality will be introduced, which plays videos in another window, automatically.
New features such as Smart Stay, which turns off the screen if you’re not looking at it, will also be added; Easy Mode and Block Mode will also be supported.
A substantial and content-rich update, therefore, that will soon reach the Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphones.
