IFA 2012 in Berlin is successively revealing the innovations from each participating company.
Huawei has also played its hand, officially announcing some highly anticipated news regarding the new Huawei Ascend D1 Quad XL.
The super smartphone, already previewed for several weeks, was only awaiting official release confirmation: Huawei has therefore announced that the device will arrive in Germany starting from the end of October.
Regarding its features, the presence of a 1.2GHz K3V2 quad-core processor and the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system is noteworthy, with a promise of a future update to Jelly Bean.
RAM is 1 GB, while internal storage is 8 GB, expandable via microSD card.
The display is 4.5 inches and there are two cameras: the main rear camera is 8 megapixels, while the front-facing camera is 1.3 megapixels.

The battery is quite surprising: the focus has been on durability and battery life, equipping the smartphone with a 2,600 mAh battery which, according to manufacturer tests, should guarantee approximately 500 hours of standby operation.
Finally, here is the probably most anticipated detail: the price of the Huawei Ascend D1 Quad XL will be 499 euros, at least for the German market.
However, being in the Eurozone, it’s expected that the price will remain the same in Italy or at least not vary significantly.

UPDATE: the device price in Italy will be 449 euros, as recommended by the company itself.
