The HTC One in Italy can now be purchased at a lower price: a 100 euro reduction.
This is not a special offer or a temporary promotion by some large retail chain: the HTC One smartphone has seen a significant reduction in its list price in recent hours.
This was directly communicated by the Italian division of HTC, via its official Facebook account.
HTC’s flagship smartphone is therefore now available on the Italian market at a price of 599 euros, compared to the initial 699 euros at launch.
This obviously does not mean that the smartphone cannot be found at an even lower price: online shops, individual stores, or electronics retailers may still offer further reductions with specific deals.
The price of 599 euros therefore refers to sales through official HTC channels.
The decision to discount the HTC One by 100 euros could have been made for several reasons: certainly, the device is somewhat “old” in a way, having been on the market since May. Until today, there had been no official discounts from the parent company, and therefore this might have been the primary reason that led HTC to lower the price.
Another reason could be the upcoming market release of the Nexus 5 and LG G2 smartphones, devices that will position themselves in the same high-end segment but with new, more performant, and updated features.
To continue boosting sales, therefore, a lower price could be a short-term strategy, awaiting a potential new release of HTC’s next top-of-the-range model.
