Google Smartwatch Anticipation: Coming with LG?

Google and LG are reportedly designing a smartwatch, with a probable release scheduled for July 2014.

A new smartwatch could be on its way to global markets: according to persistent rumors from behind the scenes at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, Google might start selling its first evolved watch starting next summer.
The anticipation was launched by the pages of the Wall Street Journal, which cites sources within the search engine giant, increasingly involved in the world of mobile devices.
The partner company chosen to build Google’s smartwatch would be LG, a long-standing and loyal partner.
The news comes as no surprise, regarding the existence of smartwatch development projects: Google’s interest in this new gadget has been rumored in the past.
However, previous rumors have always concerned the possible arrival of a smartwatch created by Google in collaboration with Motorola.
Meanwhile, as is widely known, the corporate structure has significantly changed, given the acquisition of Motorola by Lenovo.
Not coincidentally, in recent weeks there have been whispers of an upcoming Lenovo smartwatch, which would explain why development work was indeed underway, precisely by Google and Motorola.

However, the Mountain View giant hasn’t been idle in recent months and, having approached LG, is now reportedly close to scoring its next goal.
If the hypothesis is confirmed – according to what the anonymous source interviewed by the Wall Street Journal revealed – the smartwatch presentation ceremony could be held in June, during the usual Google I/O conference.
The release, therefore, could be scheduled shortly thereafter, as early as July.
Nothing has been revealed yet, however, regarding technical features and design: it’s too early to talk about it.
