Developers from all over Italy, Google is seeking new web app programming talent: a contest is launching, with registration open until September 12th.
Google is calling on Italy’s most creative developers: Google Italia has officially announced a contest aimed at web app “wizards.”
You have until September 12th to participate by submitting your project, which could contribute to developing applications for the Italian Chrome Web Store.
Participation is open to individuals or teams; in the latter case, the development team can consist of a maximum of three people.
The prize will primarily be significant visibility for the winning apps, and for a more tangible reward, Google is offering a Chromebook to each winner. For teams, every individual participant will receive their own Google laptop.
The categories for competition are:
– Utilities;
– Entertainment;
– Games;
– Social and Communication.
The apps must be in Italian (with the option to set other languages), targeting future users of the Chrome Web Store Italia. Once you are ready to submit your creation to the contest, you will need to register by completing the registration form and then send a notification email to chrome.contest@gmail.com.
A dedicated jury – composed of Sam Dutton (Developer Advocate, Google UK), Claudio Cherubino (Developer Programs Engineer, Google US), and Alessandro Antiga (Country Marketing Manager, Google Italy) – will elect the best application for each category.
Regardless of the contest results, each participant will also receive an AdWords voucher worth 30 euros to use for promoting their App.
We will be following the contest closely, announcing the winners and their respective applications as soon as they are released.
