Google Reader closes in July: alternatives

The news aggregator Google Reader is closing: Google has officially announced the decision, which is nevertheless generating dissatisfaction. Here are some alternatives to the service.

It’s official: Google has decided to shut down Google Reader and will do so starting July 1, 2013.
The decision is part of a plan that has been nicknamed “spring cleaning,” although, so to speak, the shutdown will actually happen out of season, in the summer.
As always in these cases, Google decided this because Google Reader is not used enough, and therefore they prefer to shut down the service, allocating the resources necessary for its proper functioning to other more popular products preferred by users.
Many users of the news and RSS feed aggregation service were not expecting the news at all and today say they are disappointed and saddened.
The top management of Google themselves admit that, in fact, there has always been a solid user base, but it is not enough to keep the project alive.
So, for those who use Google Reader today, the only option is to look for an equally valid alternative, with the certainty that it is possible to save all the sources they currently read through Reader.
Google suggests exporting data and subscriptions using Google Takeout, so as not to lose anything interesting.

At this point, all that remains is to choose another RSS reader: among the ones we could suggest are Pulse or Feedly, but even the simple Feedreader will suffice for those who wish to continue reading news and blogs through a specific source aggregation program.
Inconsolable users in these hours, rather than evaluating alternatives, are gathering on various platforms to express their disappointment to Google’s leaders and propose petitions: a prime example is the creation of the “Save Google Reader” website through which a signature collection is being organized.
However, in the past, we have already seen the announcement of the closure of various services, with subsequent protests, but Google has never retraced its steps.
