Google Docs on Android, application ready

Google Docs lands on Android, thanks to the smartphone application just announced via Google’s official blog. From today, it will be possible to manage your documents via Google Docs also on mobile.

If Google Docs represented the cloud breakthrough for managing one’s documents remotely, the natural next step could only go in the direction of the mobile sector.
Here, then, comes Google Docs on Android, the application for Android smartphones (with operating system Android 2.1 or higher) that allows you to manage cloud files even on the go.
This is a native app, therefore completely integrated with Google-branded products already in use. By accessing your Gmail account from an Android smartphone, you can use the application. Besides being able to download documents, you can also upload them: an important feature when, for example, you need to retrieve a photo taken by your smartphone onto your PC.
Furthermore, in this regard, by taking a photo of a page, it will be transformed into text: an undoubted convenience.
In this way, via Google Docs, you can always access all the material stored on Google’s cloud at any time, regardless of whether you are using a PC, a tablet, or an Android smartphone.
It is possible to download Google Docs for Android directly from the Android Market: the application is free but – it should be specified – it is currently only available in English.
