Facebook announces the availability of the Mentions app in Italy: here’s how it works.
News from Facebook concerning interaction with a specific category of people: the availability of the Mentions app in Italy has been announced.
This is an application initially presented only in the United States and today – a month after its debut – it has been extended to about forty other countries, including Italy.
Facebook Mentions allows you to connect primarily via chat with your idols: public figures and artists will be able to register on Mentions.
However, not all VIPs – or presumed VIPs – will be able to appear on the Mentions list: to be officially included, you will need to have a profile verified by the Facebook staff.
In particular, the selection will start from the beginning, meaning that the categories admitted for registration on Mentions are actors, athletes, musicians, and “other public figures,” as specified on Facebook.
VIPs, in addition to uploading and sharing content such as photos, various images, videos, and naturally status updates, will also be able to start sessions consisting of fan questions and answers.
The conversations that become increasingly popular can then be “scanned” by subscribers to continue answering or simply to read them, gaining greater visibility.
Dialogue and contact – albeit strictly virtual – between fans and their idols will therefore be facilitated and possible.
Naturally, for this to happen, the pivotal element without which the Mentions app certainly cannot go must not be missing: the desire on the part of the artist or VIP in question to participate in these sessions and in the Mentions project.
