In recent weeks, a series of rumors have revealed the existence of a new smartphone designed by Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.
In fact, it was rumored that this device would have an aluminum body instead of plastic, and indeed the presentation in recent days has left no doubt in this regard.
However, it must be said that at the moment the company has decided to launch the terminal exclusively in Russia and Brazil, at least for this initial release phase, and as events suggest: the device was actually presented during a regatta in Russia and – finally – the leaked price refers to the Brazilian market.
From a strictly technical point of view, the new Samsung Galaxy Alpha runs on the 4.4 Kit Kat operating system and is equipped with an Exynos Octa Core processor: it is nothing more than a combination of a 1.8 GHz quad-core and a 1.3 GHz quad-core.
The supporting RAM is 2 GB, while for internal memory, Samsung has decided to offer two versions: one with 32 GB or a second – with more internal storage – with 64 GB. Apparently, however, there would be no microSD card slots, so it will not be possible to expand the available memory, except by using optional cloud services at the user’s discretion.
As for the screen, the size is 4.7 inches, with Super AMOLED technology and an HD 1080 x 720 pixel resolution.
Two cameras are available: the first – the main one – is 12 megapixels and is accompanied by an LED flash.

The second one – on the front – is instead 8 megapixels: definitely very generous for not being a main camera.
Among the connectivity modules, there is also one for connecting to fast LTE (4G) networks.
A series of extra accessories complete the picture, such as the sensor to detect heart rate and a fingerprint reader.
Perhaps something more could have been done regarding the battery life of this device, since the battery is 1860 mAh.
Although not official, the indication about the price of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha came from Brazilian sources: it seems that in the South American country the terminal will be sold for 2399 Brazilian Real, the equivalent of about 780 euros.
