Facebook Launches Verified Pages, What Are They?

News on the Facebook social network: Verified Pages are arriving. What they are and how they work.

On the road to making Facebook a safer and “certified” place for its users, a new feature has arrived from the blue social network.
For a few hours now, subscribers may have noticed a new denomination appearing on some pages: the wording “Verified Pages“.
The novelty applies to pages belonging to famous people, singers, actors, artists, politicians, journalists, etc., but also to large companies.
The aim is therefore to immediately highlight the reliability of a given page without any possible doubt.
In this way, the goal is to distinguish between the official page of a person or brand and “fake” pages or those created – even without negative intentions – by fans and admirers.
In reality, the functionality has been in beta for some time, but currently, the graphic sign of a blue badge also gives more prominence to the novelty, thus allowing for quicker identification by users.

This initiative is certainly not new in the social network sector: on Twitter, the authentication of official accounts has been the norm for a long time. Subsequently, a similar procedure was also seen on Google+.
A necessary step, therefore, and one that was expected.
At the moment, not all pages have yet been upgraded to “Verified Page” status, and it should be noted that it is in no way possible to report to the Facebook staff a request for this “social recognition”: the process will take place automatically and, at least initially, only for a limited number of individuals, personalities, and companies.
