Equitalia’s erroneous tax bills can now be stopped via online reporting: here’s how.
Equitalia announced via press release dated February 5, 2014, that it has activated a faster procedure to report “erroneous tax bills”.
All citizens now have a new telematic service available that allows them to quickly send a request to suspend collection, naturally provided that the sums have already been paid or in the case of a favorable court ruling.
The request to block Equitalia’s erroneous tax bills – as they are commonly called – can now be submitted online by visiting the website www.gruppoequitalia.it.
Once there, simply click on “Sospendere la riscossione” (Suspend collection) on the homepage and follow the guided procedure, clicking on the right column “Sospensione Online” (Online Suspension).
There will be no need for separate registration, but of course, the request will require personal data and you must have all the supporting documentation ready to justify the suspension request.
Therefore, depending on the case, you will need a copy of the payment receipt or a copy of the court ruling.
A copy of a valid identification document will also be required, therefore, one that is still current.
At this point, you can proceed with the submission and you will reach a summary screen confirming the successful completion of the reporting operation just performed.
On the Equitalia website, you can consult the guide specifically created to further simplify the procedure.
Obviously, all other “traditional” and offline methods remain active and can still be used; therefore, the online system is a good integration to keep up with the times and to try to minimize the inconveniences – at least logistic ones – for citizens.
