Winner Doodle for Google is “Onwards with Energy”: award ceremony video

The Doodle that is camping on the Google homepage today is special: it’s the winner of the contest held by Google called “Italy in 150 Years”, organized for the 150th anniversary of Italy’s unification.
Over 5000 participants took part, showing the keen interest shown by students and schools in the initiative.
After the first selection phase carried out by an internal jury of Google staff, the remaining logos were reviewed by a special jury of well-known figures, leading to the final stages on the web. At this point, it was up to internet users to cast their votes until September 15th.
The winning doodle, currently visible on the Google Italy homepage, is “Onwards with energy!”, created by the group “Tuttingamba” consisting of students from the Borgo Rosselli Primary School in Porto San Giorgio.
There are also two other winners: the first-place group in the Lower Secondary School category and the one for Upper Secondary Schools.
First place for lower secondary schools goes to the doodle ” Long live the new symbols!” created by the group “Batta” from the A. Gramsci Comprehensive Institute of Aprilia.
For upper secondary schools, the doodle ” Myths continue” by the group “Mister One” from the P. Petrocchi State Artistic High School in Pistoia took first place.
Looking at the overall winning doodle, it’s clear that even the youngest are very sensitive to environmental issues and the future of Italy – and the whole planet – in terms of energy: in the doodle, each letter that makes up the word “Google” takes on the guise of elements useful for creating clean energy.
It is therefore possible to notice the presence of a wind turbine, the sun, water useful for generating the movement of a gear, waste to be correctly separated, and greenery to be respected for cleaner air.
