Canon XF300, price of the professional camcorder

Canon XF300 is not a camcorder for everyone: it is a professional-use item that stands out as one of Canon’s first file-based professional camcorders with CF card recording.
It features a Canon 18x L-series wide-angle lens and three 1/3-inch Canon Full HD CMOS sensors.
Despite being a professional-range product, it records and stores on CF media, which are widely used and easily available everywhere; furthermore, the MPEG-2 MXF file format ensures broad compatibility as it is an open-source format perfectly integrated and recognized by most existing editing software.
In practice, the Canon XF300 offers great performance, starting with the fact that the control rings are separate, allowing independent and customizable modulation of focus, iris, and zoom.
It is also possible to choose the most appropriate frame rate, in a range from 12 to 50 fps.
Everything can be kept under control, making preferred adjustments and solutions, via the 10.1 cm (1.23 million dots) Dual Side LCD display; this is the “command center” available during shooting.
As for the viewfinder, it is a 1.3 cm (1.55 million dots) EVF, to capture consistently sharp images.
The price of the Canon XF300 is still around 5000 Euros today.
