Canon PowerShot SX500 IS is one of the upcoming new compact cameras set to be released by Canon. Here is a summary of its features and the recommended retail price.
Canon is beginning to introduce its new compact cameras and here comes a first name: it is the Canon PowerShot SX500 IS.
This is a camera equipped with a powerful 30x wide-angle optical zoom from 24 millimeters. Despite its architecture, this new generation superzoom was designed to become perfect even for a compact camera.
The support of Canon ZoomPlus technology also allows further enhancement of the lens reach, extending the zoom up to 60x.
All “assisted” by Canon’s advanced optical image stabilizer and Intelligent IS technology, to always achieve fairly sharp images.
Regarding the sensor, it is 16 Megapixels, supported by the Canon DIGIC 4 image processor.
The use of the camera is also facilitated by automatic recognition of 32 scenes: the camera autonomously finds the best settings to achieve the best result.
Naturally it is also possible to shoot videos: with this camera you can obtain HD videos (720p) with HDMI and stereo audio.
Finally, to review your shots and to adjust settings before shooting, the large and bright monitor is the best ally: it is a 3-inch LCD display (7.5 cm diagonal).
The suggested retail price for Canon PowerShot SX500 IS by Canon itself is 329 euros, VAT included. The arrival in stores is scheduled during the month of September.
