Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is the successor to the EOS 5D Mark III. The camera was designed using suggestions from professional photographers in the Canon community. The goal was to create an even more versatile and high-performing DSLR. A camera that combines speed and resolution with excellent low-light shooting capabilities and video features. All this is made possible thanks to a series of important components: a new 30.4-megapixel CMOS sensor with wide exposure latitude, high-speed 7 frames per second (fps) shooting, internal 4K video recording, and Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity.

EOS 5D Mark IV is also the first EOS camera equipped with the innovative Dual Pixel RAW format, which allows photographers to precisely calibrate images in post-production, adjusting or correcting the focus point, shifting the background blur, or reducing ghosting.

EOS 5D Mark IV features a new 30.4 Megapixel Full Frame Canon CMOS sensor, capable of delivering exceptionally detailed images, even in highlights and shadows. With an ISO range of 100-32,000, expandable from 50 to 102,400 ISO, images can be captured in any lighting condition. The noise processing algorithm has been refined to further optimize low-light shooting. An ideal solution for photographers and photojournalists who need to capture news events in any environmental condition.
Thanks to the 61-point autofocus system with a wide reticular area of EOS 5D Mark IV, detecting and tracking fast-moving subjects’ faces and colors is easy and precise. The 61 AF points – 41 of which are cross-type – cover a wide area of the sensor (larger than the previous EOS 5D Mark III) and offer the ability to focus even in moonlight, with -3 EV in viewfinder mode, or -4 EV in Live View mode. The EOS 5D Mark IV allows you to use focal length extenders on telephoto lenses with autofocus at f/8 with all 61 points, 21 of which are cross-type for even greater precision. The high resolution of the 3.2-inch LCD screen, with full touch technology across all menus, is combined with a new autofocus area selection button, providing a quick AF point selection. Additionally, the camera is equipped with an advanced 150K RGB+IR metering sensor with a dedicated DIGIC 6 processor for accurate exposures and precise tracking of moving subjects.
Designed for immediate response, EOS 5D Mark IV adopts high-speed readout technology and a DIGIC 6+ processor that enable 7 fps bursts at full resolution, with complete AF/AE tracking control. A camera capable of capturing up to 21 RAW images, or unlimited JPEGs in a single sequence. When discretion is needed, such as for news events or shooting wildlife in their natural habitat, silent single and continuous shooting modes allow you to capture images with reduced sound.
The detail of every story can be told in 4K resolution with the EOS 5D Mark IV, thanks to the powerful video performance of this new camera. Truly versatile, the EOS 5D Mark IV features 4K DCI (4096 x 2160) at 30/25/24 fps and offers the ability to extract 8.8 MP JPEG images from 4K videos. An ideal solution for those who want to switch effortlessly between video and photography. Offering high-level images is increasingly important given current streaming services that demand high quality, and the EOS 5D Mark IV guarantees this performance in digital SLR format with 4K video capabilities, Full HD at 50/60p, HD at 100/120p, Dual Pixel CMOS AF, time-lapse video, and a new HDR video mode.
The EOS 5D Mark IV ensures unparalleled flexibility in terms of connectivity. Built-in Wi-Fi allows for remote operation and secure file transfer (FTPS/FTP) via smart devices using the Canon Camera Connect app, while NFC offers instant connections between compatible devices. Geotagging of every image is embedded in the EXIF data, with automatic time updates to help manage images, and for the first time, IPTC metadata, such as photographer and shot details, can be included directly in-camera.
Furthermore, travel photographers and photojournalists can rely on increased resistance to water and dust, making this camera ideal even in the most challenging environments.
Canon is renowned for having the world’s largest lens system, and today it introduces two new zooms to its extensive range: the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM III. The former is a flexible and durable lens, a perfect tool for achieving a high level of sharpness throughout the frame and at every focal length. The 24-105mm range with an f/4 aperture is ideal for a wide variety of subjects and lighting conditions. Additionally, the stabilizer is now more effective (4 stops) and the new EDM design offers silent aperture control during movie recording.
The second zoom presented today is the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM III. Working in perfect harmony with high-resolution sensors like the one in the EOS 5D Mark IV, the lens’s high performance ensures exceptional image quality for professionals and enthusiasts. The versatile focal length (16-35mm) is designed for wedding photographers and photojournalists who need to work up close, while the constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 makes it an ideal choice for low-light shooting.
