TheEF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM lensis the world’s first AF lens capable of focusing at infinity and with 1.2x magnification.
Compact and lightweight, the CanonEF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STMoffers unprecedented macro capabilities and, for the first time in the world, includes a Macro Lite for shadow and darkness removal. With high-quality magnification, focusing capability down to 13mm, and weighing just 130g, the EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM is also the lightest macro lens for mirrorless cameras.
The Macro Lite allows you to get closer to the subject without sacrificing good illumination. This feature can be controlled by a switch that allows you to adjust the light intensity and turn on one or both sides of the Macro Lite. This allows for maximum customization in defining the lighting. At the same time, the unique design reduces shadows cast by the camera and lens.
The lens offers both 1x life-size magnification and 1.2x in Super Macro mode. Getting closer to subjects to capture their complexity and minute details, it can focus down to 13mm.
The optical image stabilizerCanonoffers the possibility of shooting handheld without camera shake compromising photo sharpness. Furthermore, in combination with Hybrid IS technology, the stabilizer corrects angular camera shake, which is common in macro shooting.
In addition to its exceptional macro performance,EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STMfeatures a seven-blade circular aperture for a smooth, blurred background and a focal length of 45mm (35mm equivalent) to capture both portraits and wide scenes on the go, without changing lenses. For smooth movies, the near-silent focusing of theSTMdrive eliminates lens noise when focusing or changing framing.
