Asus Eee PC X101CH arrives in Italy with a low price tag: here’s an overview of the features that have been disclosed so far.
The new Asus Eee PC X101CH netbook hasn’t been widely discussed yet, but its arrival in Italian stores is expected within days.
It will certainly position itself among the most popular netbooks for those seeking good support without spending a lot of money, while still offering an attractive design and more than acceptable performance. Furthermore, its presence will “cover” the needs currently met by its predecessor, which we’ve already covered on FullPress: the Asus Eee PC X101.
What is known is that this netbook features the 1.6Ghz Atom N2600 processor, a dual-core that delivers good results; an example of this is that it handles multimedia formats and HD movie playback without issues and doesn’t seem to overload the machine too much.
At the same time, being a component designed by Intel with a particular focus on energy efficiency, this processor doesn’t excessively drain the battery, nor does it cause the machine to overheat.
Regarding memory, we note 1 GB of RAM, and the 320 GB available on the hard drive should be confirmed.
The screen is 10 inches, and as for the design, based on the videos already circulating on YouTube, it appears to have a two-tone casing with a screen bezel different from the rest of the netbook’s cover.
The battery should be a three-cell unit: not an exceptional capacity, but considering that the processor itself doesn’t heavily impact energy consumption, a compromise is guaranteed.
The pre-installed operating system will be Windows 7 Starter, and the price of the Asus Eee PC X101CH should be around 200 euros or slightly more.
