The first units of the Apple Watch will be distributed during April 2015.
The time is drawing near to get acquainted with Apple’s much-anticipated smartwatch: it is understood that the distribution of the Apple Watch will begin in the coming months.
The month of April will see the arrival of this “smartwatch,” developed in the Cupertino labs, on users’ wrists.
The confirmation comes directly from Apple CEO Tim Cook, who reassures the market and investors, explaining that the process for the Apple Watch launch is perfectly adhering to the company’s programmed “schedule.”
Therefore, the launch remains confirmed for April, seemingly as long-planned, although rumors and various leaks had indicated March as the decisive month for the official release.
The opportunity to make this statement arose during the recent quarterly earnings call – held yesterday, Tuesday – concerning Apple’s revenue report.
As this was not a meeting focused on other topics – even though it was conducted solely via teleconference – it was not possible to discover further technical details regarding Apple’s next smartwatch.
Indeed, industry observers and potential buyers are highly curious, especially in the wake of leaked information regarding the battery specifications.
Reports suggest an autonomy of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes with continuous device usage.
This duration is considered somewhat short, although other sources mention 3 to 4 hours of battery life when certain apps are in active use.
In standby mode, however, the Apple Watch is expected to remain operational for up to 4 days on a full charge.
Further details are thus awaited, but considering Apple’s typical communication style, they are unlikely to be officially announced before the wearable’s actual launch.
