Google is opening a new virtual space where you can experiment and perhaps even carve out a highly visible space within a planetary showcase.
After having successfully conducted the Chrome Experiments project with some success, the Mountain View giant has decided to extend the possibility to the field of mobile devices and wearables, by opening the Android Experiments site.
As of yesterday, anyone can present their app development project to the world, counting not only on a certain visibility but also on an audience of possible “helpers”.
The purpose of Android Experiments is undoubtedly to broaden the range of apps usable with terminals that run on Android.
At the same time, it also acts as a virtual “laboratory” where you can meet other developers who can make a personal contribution to various projects.
The fundamental requirement to enjoy your own space on Android Experiments is that the experiment proposed must be open source.
Furthermore, another essential basis is that the app must be compatible with devices running Android 4.4 Kitkat and later versions.
In the best-case scenario, if an app is deemed truly interesting by the Google staff, it would be officially presented by Big G’s technicians, and then made available for download on the Google Play Store.
However, there’s no price to ask for: the app would remain on the store for free download for all users.

Therefore, an initial “screening” will be carried out by the Google staff, as the site will only accept projects with potential.
As of this writing, it is possible to note that about twenty experiments have been activated on Android Experiments: it would be interesting to take a look before submitting your own idea, in order to grasp the general concept on which the platform is based.
