Many more Android smartphones and tablets will now be able to use TomTom without difficulty: the app has been updated.
Good news for users of TomTom navigation systems who own an Android device: the application has been updated.
This means a large number of terminals can now count on a more stable and performant version of TomTom, simply by updating the app previously purchased, via the Google Play Store.
The current version, therefore 1.1, resolves some issues that emerged last October, the launch period of the first edition of the TomTom application.
Those who purchased the app back then will not have to pay anything for the update today, while all those who wish to buy the TomTom app for Android today will pay 34.99 euros for the complete package related to the maps of Italy, while for the maps of all of Europe the price rises to 59.99 euros.
In particular, it should be noted that the display problem on screens with a resolution higher than 480 pixels has been completely resolved, and therefore even the newest smartphones – for example the Samsung Galaxy S 3, to name just one – will be able to correctly receive images related to maps and routes.
The aspect is fundamental especially when referred to the visualization on tablet displays, and in fact this substantial modification proposed by TomTom sees the maximum limit moved to 1280×800 pixels.
Another detail that is not negligible is the possibility to save the maps directly on the SD card, so as not to take up too much space on the internal memory.
Finally, background operation helps to have information quickly and at no extra cost, even when traveling abroad.
A truly substantial and well-structured update, therefore, for TomTom maps on Android.
