It appears HTC is on the verge of launching the HTC Butterfly, a new phablet that’s a hybrid between a smartphone and a tablet, in Europe.
HTC is starting to move with decisiveness and initiative in the phablet sector as well: these devices, halfway between a tablet and a smartphone, seem to be the future of telecommunications and mobility.
The model arriving in Europe will be the new HTC Butterfly, featuring a 5-inch Full HD screen; specifically, it’s an LCD 3 display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, protected by Gorilla Glass 2.
Regarding the technological heart of this phablet, it will boast the full power of a Qualcomm APQ8064 quad-core SoC with a Krait architecture at 1.5 GHz, an Adreno 320 CPU, and 2 GB of RAM.
Internal memory is expected to be offered only in a 16 GB configuration, with the possibility of expansion since the device is equipped with a microSD card slot.
The operating system will certainly be Android, but it’s not yet clear if it will directly adopt version 4.1 Jelly Bean. The interface, however, will definitely be Sense 4+.
Two cameras: the main rear camera will be 8 megapixels, while the front camera will be 2.1 megapixels.
Collaboration with Beats Audio continues for the audio sector, and connectivity is assured thanks to LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth modules.
Finally, a note on the battery, which is 2020 mAh.
It’s not yet possible to know the HTC Butterfly price on the European market, nor has the company expressed certainty about the release date.
