Amazon smartphone is not coming out and will not be free

There is no **Amazon smartphone** on the horizon, not in the near future: the latest rumors have been denied.

A few days ago a rumor launched by the Wall Street Journal made its way quickly around the net, relating to the next moves of the giant Amazon.
. It seemed that the release of the first Amazon smartphone, a device model that would have been characterized by being particularly low cost, if not even free.
However, just a few hours after the report of the WSJ was released, Amazon issued an official denial: at the moment there is no intention to launch a smartphone and furthermore the possibility that it could be distributed completely free of charge is not at all part of the plans – even hypothetical ones – of Amazon.
. The statements released via official press release leave no room for doubt: “We have no plans to offer a phone this year and if we were to launch a smartphone in the future, it certainly wouldn’t be free“.

The rumor therefore sees a clear denial, but people continue to talk about an Amazon smartphone that might still arrive no earlier than 2014.
It would be an Android, but, as is already the case with Kindle Fire, these would be models with a highly customized and very “Amazon-centric” interface, directly connected to Amazon’s marketplace and the Amazon App Store, in particular.
The business model related to the already well-positioned tablets would therefore be the same.
However, it must be said that until next year the company could unveil new cards and chart new monetization and market coverage paths.
