Website effectively closed – although still accessible – and silent SIM cards: the short story of the operator seems to have endedBip Mobile.
There is uncertainty regarding the fate of customers of Bip Mobile: the operator in these hours has deactivated the SIM cards activated in recent months, rendering them effectively silent.
The bitter discovery comes after weeks of disruptions that today seem to have an unhappy ending: Bip Mobile appears to be on the verge of closure, although this word – or similar ones – is not used in the company’s official communication.
Even the official website of Bip Mobile does not offer much hope, as only a landing page with a single message for customers can be displayed.
It is indeed possible to read: “BipMobile thanks all its customers for the trust shown during these months of activity. We apologize to all of you for the disruptions that have occurred in recent weeks and especially for the ongoing blackout since yesterday due to the disconnection of the service by our Enabler (Telogic). We are doing everything we can to restore the service by today. Thank you again for your patience. We will provide you with the necessary information regarding this as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
The Staff“.
Almost as a mockery, next to the message is an image of the mascot sticking out its tongue.
There is no date indicated, therefore the exact day referred to by the word “yesterday” used is not specified.
From what we understand, the Bip Mobile SIM blackout occurred on the evening of December 30, 2013, due to problems that were not resolved between Bip Mobile and Telogic: the former is indeed a virtual operator that provided service through the network service provider, namely Telogic.
The latter company has in turn released an official statementthrough MVNOnews, explaining that the core of the problem is essentially economic: “Telogic’s economic hardship was caused by the non-collection of credits owed by some clients. Among these is Bip Mobile, which for months now has no longer honored its commitments to its Enabler. Because of all this, Telogic, despite itself, being unable to bear the daily increasing exposure, was forced to interrupt the supply of services to Bip Mobile. This decision was postponed several times in the hope that the mobile telephony company would find a solution. Telogic has pursued all avenues to protect end customers, but every invitation made has been completely ignored by Bip Mobile“.
It is noted that from the circles ofBip Mobile is not talking about closing down, however, the future of locked SIMs and therefore of customers who are trying to understand how to move in these hours, mostly trying to switch to other operators, is not at all clear.
