Microsoft Translator: update for real-time translations

Microsoft also extends the Translator app to real-time translated conversations, for both Android and iOS.

Microsoft has released a new update for its Translator app, bringing version 1.2 to devices running the Redmond-based operating system. The upgrade also benefits users of iOS and Android systems, particularly for specific devices: so-called wearables.
The main innovation of this update lies in the fact that the app has been equipped with real-time voice translation capabilities.
This presents an open challenge against the similar feature that Google has offered for a long time.
Currently, the first languages supported for real-time conversations are English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, and Chinese.
However, the Microsoft Translator development team has promised the upcoming integration of additional languages.
A certainly important aspect, and therefore definitely worth highlighting, is that the Microsoft Translator app allows real-time translation to function using two different devices, thus providing greater convenience and reduced translation times.
Everything will consequently be simpler and, above all, more fluid.
Specifically, Microsoft Translator enables a “dialogue” between a smartphone and a smartwatch, working on both Android Wear and Apple Watch.

Therefore, the current update will also apply to Android and iOS devices, providing a new tool to a very broad audience.
Especially since it is a completely free app.
The update is a big step towards real-time conversations, but the mechanism certainly needs to be perfected: the development team working on this specific feature has indeed promised to provide a more accurate tool with a wider range of languages available soon.
