For the romantics and the less romantic, this model never seems to go out of fashion and Fujifilm is ready to launch the latest version: the XQ2.
But let’s look at the specifications in detail. The XQ2 is a camera suitable for everyone, compact, lightweight, and simple to use. The size itself seems to be the strong point of this model, an ultra-slim camera measuring 100×58.5×33.3mm (LxHxD). These dimensions provide comfort and speed to the user. The control ring around the lens provides some quick settings such as manual focus, aperture or shutter speed adjustment, and the “advanced filters” function, thus avoiding menus.
Regarding the technical innovations, the new X-Trans sensor should certainly be highlightedTM*1CMOS II 2/3″ sensor, equipped with a highly random pixel matrix filter, this means that moiré effect and false colors are effectively controlled without having to resort to an optical low-pass filter. This way, light is transmitted directly from the lens to the sensor, ensuring excellent resolution and low noise.
As for the lens, the XQ2 is equipped with an ultra-bright lens with a maximum aperture of F1.8. The display is a 3″ 920,000-pixel LCD with an anti-reflective glass. The contrast is very high, thus ensuring good visibility at any time of day.
The responsiveness and speed of shots are another point in favor of this camera. In fact, the XQ2 is equipped with the fastest AF system in the world.
Regarding image quality, the new film simulation mode “Classic Chrome” should be noted, which features soft tones and intense color reproduction. There is also the possibility of shooting Full HD video at 60fps.
A camera for lovers of fast shooting, of the fleeting moment, to carry in a handbag or jacket pocket without feeling bulky. For nostalgics, however, a classic that cannot be missed, the “retro” style, so to speak, combines perfectly with lovers of “vintage.”
