Unveiled today at CES 2015, the new smartphone from the Taiwanese company enters the telephony market with respectable hardware. The Asus Zenfone 2 is indeed the first smartphone equipped with 4 GB of RAM.
The device is characterized by a 2.3 GHz Super Quad Core 64-bit Intel Atom processor, a rear camera with 13 megapixels and a 5-megapixel front camera. The display has a 5.5-inch diagonal, IPS fullHD (1920×1080) with Gorilla Glass 3. The battery is 3000 mAh, which should ensure good battery life. Regarding the software, ASUS distinguishes its products by customizing Android through ZenUI, which guarantees a very pleasant and customizable user experience. But the most significant innovation is certainly the presence of Android Lollipop on board, the latest version of the green robot, now at 5.0.1.
Asus Zenfone 2 is a device that also stands out for its captivating design; the rear shell, made of plastic, is slightly curved and very well-crafted.
ASUS will launch its new device in two versions, the more affordable one with 2 GB of RAM and the other with 4 GB. Internal memory options will be available in 16, 32, or 64 GB versions, with the possibility of adding a micro SD card.
Regarding dimensions, we will be looking at a device weighing 170 grams and with a thickness of only 3.9 mm. The official dimensions are: 152.5×77.2×10.9.
Available in colors: Glacier Gray, Osmium Black, Glamour Red, Ceramic White, and Sheer Gold.
The price is $199 for the 2 GB version; the price for the 4 GB version has not yet been announced.
