Apple officially inaugurates “Reuse and Recycle”, the program that reintroduces used iPhones and iPads to the market, guaranteed by the company.
News for Italian Apple fans: the company has officially launched a new service – already tested elsewhere – in our country as well.
This is the “Reuse and Recycle” program, for purchasing new iPhones and iPads with a discount obtained by trading in your old Apple device.
From today, you can go to an Apple Store and trade in your iPhone. You will receive credit usable towards the immediate purchase of a new iPhone. The staff will evaluate the device you are trading in and, if in good condition, will assign a value of up to a maximum of 220 euros, depending on the model and its condition. The staff will refer to 22 evaluation criteria before communicating the price to the interested customer.
Naturally, you can decide not to accept the offer made by the Apple representative.
Equally naturally, iPhones that have been jailbroken or have generally been tampered with or repaired through unofficial channels will not be eligible for this program.
If everything is in order and the valuation offer is accepted, you can proceed with the purchase of a new iPhone with a discount equal to the value of your old iPhone.
The “Reuse and Recycle” program therefore also comes into effect in our country, allowing for the disposal of old products, even older ones, since models starting from the iPhone 3G can be accepted.
Apple’s press office has not yet issued any press release to officially announce the news, however, the “Reuse and Recycle” icon has appeared – and is fully functional – within the menu of the official App Store application.
