Apple iTV seems almost ready for its release and to surprise buyers with its Ultra HD technology.
Talk of Apple iTV, the Smart TV promising a truly interactive experience thanks to its comprehensive Apple technology, is resurfacing. Apple iTV, in fact, is expected to feature the voice assistant Siri, Facetime, and all the capabilities and customization options available through connection to the Apple App Store. It has been learned recently that the new Apple iTV might also be equipped – from a purely hardware perspective – with an Ultra HD screen. The magazine Digitimes is reporting this rumor, according to which the display should reach a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. However, it seems that the Cupertino staff has not yet decided which supplier to assign this important contract for Ultra HD panels. This raises questions about whether the new Apple iTV will actually be available by the end of the year, as per more optimistic forecasts. The most recurrent rumors at the moment point to LG possibly being awarded the contract for panel manufacturing.
Regarding the dimensions of these innovative future TVs, it appears that two models are being considered for initial launch, respectively 46 and 55 inches. Finally, the price of the Apple iTV is a subject of speculation: if the screen indeed features the aforementioned characteristics, a quite high cost should be expected, given the quality of the panels to be used. As always in such cases, Apple has not released any information; there is always strict confidentiality in Cupertino, especially during the design phase.
