The new tablet from Microsoft has been on sale for a few days: here are the features and prices of the Surface Pro 2.
Time for new releases for Microsoft which, in addition to the new Surface 2, has also released another tablet on the market – including the Italian market: the Surface Pro 2.
The display is 10.1 inches with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 (1080p) and ClearType technology.
Due to its dimensions and the accessories designed in conjunction with it, this tablet increasingly resembles a true fixed platform, much like a notebook.
Regarding its functionalities, it should be noted that Surface Pro 2 runs on the Windows 8.1 Pro operating system and is equipped with a 1.6 GHz Intel Haswell Core i5-4200U processor. This is a major innovation in this new generation of tablets.
What makes it particularly powerful is its pairing with RAM, available with either 4 or even 8 GB: truly impressive.
The internal storage options are also quite generous: it is possible to consider purchasing versions with 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.
The sales package also includes a pen, suitable for drawing on Surface 2 Pro, as well as for many other applications to manage PDFs, documents, spreadsheets, and so on.
There are two cameras: the main one is 5 megapixels, while the front one is 3.5 megapixels.
Significant effort has been made to extend battery life which, according to Microsoft‘s claims, now offers 75% more autonomy compared to the previous model.
The standout accessory is the Surface Cover, sold separately: it attaches easily and effectively transforms the tablet into a netbook.

- Surface Pro 2 128 GB: 989 euros;
- Surface Pro 2 256 GB: 1289 euros;
- Surface Pro 2 512 GB: 1789 euros.
