A breath of fresh air at Fujifilm: a few hours ago, the new camera was officially unveiledFujifilm X-A1.
It is a high-end compact camera with interchangeable lenses, part of the company’s X Series.
The APS-C CMOS sensor of FUJIFILM X-A1 16.3 megapixel pairs with the EXR II image processor, ensuring sharp photos and fast response. So much so that among the features, three key points are mentioned: 0.5-second startup time; 0.05-second shutter lag; and 5.6 frames per second burst shooting (with a maximum of 30 consecutive shots).
This camera features a series of useful buttons for quickly selecting different operating modes and, when choosing the best framing, the screen becomes a great ally in this regard: it is indeed a 3-inch display that has the characteristic of being a tilting LCD with 920,000 pixels. The advantage is that this type of screen allows for use at different angles, for example up or down, thus offering versatility.
Regarding brightness, the ISO range goes from 200 to 6400 in 1/3 increments (with an extended range to ISO100, ISO 12800, and 25600); furthermore, the company notes the presence of the Fujifilm Super Intelligent Flash, which properly adjusts brightness levels, preventing, for example, overly bright images.
As with more and more cameras nowadays, the Fujifilm X-A1 is also equipped with a wireless data transfer module: a great convenience, also thanks to the help of the dedicated FUJIFILM Camera App.
Naturally, the camera also allows for video recording, in this case in Full HD quality (1920×1080).
Theprice of the Fujifilm X-A1suggested by the company itself is 549.99 euros, considering the kit version with XC16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS.
The release is expected in October 2013.
